UFO hunters are to descend on a Stirlingshire town in a bid to discover why it has seemingly become Britains UFO capital. The experts from around the globe hope to unravel the mystery behind the hundreds of UFO sightings in the skies over Bonnybridge in the recent years. Hundreds of UFO watchers are expected to flock to a conference planned for nearby Falkirk in January where the "Bonnybridge Phenomenon " will be investigated. Visits to the town are also planned.
There have been over 500 sightings of flying saucers and strange coloured lights in the sky above the town since 1992
Now local UFO watcher Malcolm Robinson hopes some of the best brains on the subject will be able to get to the bottom of the mystery.
Among the experts are Graham Birdsall editor of UFO magazine "It's an area that has one of the highest concentrations of UFO sightings in the world. But why that's the case is the million dollar question". Investigations into the sightings are continuing and we are hopeful we can find some sort of answer at the conference to account for what happening here.
The scottish UFO Conference is in Falkirk Town Hall on January 6th.
Organisers Quest International decided to stage the event after the news of the phenomenon spread.
Mr Robinson will address the conference and brief those attending on whats been going on.
He said "There's no denying theres something going on in the skies above central Scotland and people like myself are trying to find out why.
He is confident the conference will be a success.
"The hall seats 700 people and im expecting the conference to be a sell out the sighting in the area have generated a huge amount of interest in the subject."
